New GPU and High Performance Nodes on HPC Spot Cloud

Designed for researchers and engineers, OVH’s HPC Spot offers computing power on demand. It’s a shared cluster of high performance computing that enables users to get the most out of resources (nodes) while benefiting from hourly billing. To make it possible for companies to resolve increasing and more complex issues, notably in R&D, the HPC Spot platform has been offering latest generation Intel computing servers as well as new GPU servers since July 2014. To boost their computing power, users now have access to:

  • Nodes for parallel treatments: Intel Ivy-Bridge Bi-socket E5-2650v2 : 2 x 8 cores 2.6 GHz equipped with 128 GB RAM
  • Nodes optimised for frequency: Intel Haswell Mono-socket E3-1275v3 : 4 cores 3.5 GHz equipped with 32 GB RAM
  • GPU nodes fitted with CUDA and OpenCL compatible Nivida Tesla accelorator cards (K20) for massively parrallel codes.

Between now and the end of the year, we will also add Intel Xeon Phi nodes so that we can offer more parallel resources to scientific application developers. Update of applications offered in SaaS Over 20 computing and virtualisation applications are available in SaaS for HPC Spot users. Our teams regularly update this list so that you can benefit from the latest software features and improvements. Also available are the latest versions of Ansys Fluent & Mechanical (v. 14), Altair Hyperworks (v. 12), WRF (v. 3.6) and Blender (v. 2.71).
